well, they certainly have forgotten we exist. No communication at all. No updates. No nuttin. And that was one of the mentioned 'benefits' of being a vinpioneer. We'd get direct communications. Huh.
I have got calls from them. They told me my VF9 for my area will be mid 2023 and that my price was held pre-price increase. They asked if I had any questions. This was about a month ago. More than a brick and mortar dealer had done.

My test drive is apparently tomorrow not today, according to the email they sent me. I called and told them that I had scheduled for Saturday and they apologized and said there wasn't anything they can do. No big deal, I'll go tomorrow.

The interesting thing is that the email confirmation also has a QR code which is needed in order to actually test drive (and, I assume to go into the structure). Up north we haven't had any calls from what I can tell but hopefully after this event that changes.

Will keep you guys updated. I'll also ask about communication for US customers as well. The guys who were in the live stream the other day are apparently going to be at the event so I'll hopefully get answers from higher ups, and not regular employees.

just for kicks I decided to call Vinfast yesterday to see if they would spill any info for US customers. Nope & nope. Still saying by year end and sticking to that line of the script. What i did learn the online order system that will have final prices and options won't go live until the vehicles land here in the US. Seems strange to do it that way, specially for those of us who converted from a reservation to an 'order'.

So much for updates.

If I missed something then correct me on my guess: Im worried that it’s because of not completing the range tests and safety tests (NHTSA) up to a satisfying degree. I haven’t seen anything about these things so far. And I’m wondering if this could be a reason why they do “test drives“ on a parking lot instead in real life conditions on the street?

Yeah, I'm concerned about all the numbers are 'targets' and haven't been confirmed yet. Waiting on production units to reach the US? In a lot of the drives in Vietnam the 0-60, even in sport mode, were way off the 'targets'. That has me worried. Don't want a gutless wonder like the prius.

I did see a vinfast video regarding crash tests. See the link for an article pertaining to it. Not sure what the e34 EV is but it got a 4 star rating, and apparently the first vinfast vehicle to take part in an updated crash test system for the 2021-2025 period. If they've been selling and delivering ev8s in Vietnam they SHOULD have ratings compete right?

The test drive track looks really short but my plan is to take videos and photos as much as I'm allowed to and help make a final decision.

I will say I'm disappointed with what you were told and the speed they're getting things done. As I said before according to the dudes in the last official video they aim to get order systems up in 3 days lol.

Crash tests are performed after they are released into a market many times. We have an R1T and that just got its tests done. When I got a new bronco it was the same thing. Almost a year until they had official crash tests. So weird.

Nice looking store. Lucid Motors is around the corner from the Vinfast store (It was the last time I actually went inside the mall). I hope it does well - I'm sure they will get a lot of traffic this month and next.
