Well I am sure some of us have read already that their is a new tax credit bill that is slated for vote in Senate then to go down to the representatives. But if and when it passes states vehicles and batteries need to come from USA or US Free Trade country. Thos means if passed both houses it will go into effect Jan 1 2023 and credit expires in 2032. Vehicle cost is max 80k for trucks and SUV 55k for sedan or cars these are MSRP pricing.

So I do not think the VF8 or 9 will qualify until their factory is built and running in north carolina.
He’s been reading about this bill. VinFast won’t qualify for tax credits of $7500 or so if this bill goes through with the House. The Senate just passed the inflation bill.

Hello all went to showroom at UTC yesterday rep mentioned that Vinfast might be lowering prices of vehicles to counter the proposed legislation. Also that orders will start late fall with deliveries at end of year.

I asked why not start a massive reservation order bank to ensure the tax credit because once signed that is it until 2024.

He mentioned they are looking at all options .
VinFast is still working on their reservations system from my order I put in earlier this year. I couldn’t find my reservation, initially. They hope to finish up with the reservations tracking system shortly (didn’t give me a timeline).

They will:
1. have to reduce prices.
2. ensure deliveries can be done ✔ by the end of this year for Vf8 or 9.
3. Guarantee folks in the USA that a $7500 credit could be awarded based on reservation. This is highly doubtful based on other EV forums I am reading.
4. You have to have a valid VIN and a PO for you to qualify.
5. Can’t wait to see what other options they’ll come out with if the NC factory can’t be stood up until 2025?

I just spoke to a customer support rep through their website chat. They said VinFast will be sending out emails today with the purchase agreement so looks like they are going the same route as all the other brands (been getting emails from Kia/Nissan dealers about the agreement too). We will have to act fast since the bill is supposed to be signed today.
Who are they sending the purchase agreements to? The folks that submitted reservations right obvious?
