Here is a breakdown of the price changes.

VF9 $ 69,750 $ 79,990 $ 10,240
U.S.VF8 $ 40,700 $ 42,200 $ 1,500
VF9 $ 55,000 $ 57,500 $ 2,500

Flexible PlanFixed Plan
CANUSDCANUSD
VF8$39$35$139 $249$110 $169
VF9$59$40$199 $349$160 $219

The above are for reservations from 9/1; those before will have the old prices. what is not clear is that the old unit price or just the old subscription prices? So far no official word from Vinfast on the changes. Which is kinda odd.

Will they continue with old price for existing reservation? and subscriptions on existing reservation?

good question. I sent a message to vinfast via their website "contact us" with that very question. They usually answer w/in 24 hours (not counting weekends or holidays).

Just found out from my showroom advisor that the price hikes don't apply to reservation holders. Yippeee.

Is this also for the battery subscription plan(s)?

I asked for both and the reply was it was. We shall see. that was from a sales advisor; I've also sent a message to vinfast.

Vinfast had grandfathered in their old price for the early adopters in VN and that was via official company communication so I'm hoping the same will apply for us early adopters in the US.

Just an FYI, the Flexible plan is no longer offered. The only plan available is Fixed.

"...Just an FYI, the Flexible plan is no longer offered. The only plan available is Fixed." I guess Vinfast has been listening to US market feedback on the 310 miles per month is not realistic in the US.

This wouldn’t be a reason to scrap this plan as long as there is a unlimited plan. The reason imo is either (a) they figured out that a flexible plan isn’t profitable for them or (b) the flexible plan with its low month cost was meant from the beginning as a bait so that people make friends with the idea of a battery subscription plan.

On their site under Battery Subscriptions, noticed that Flexible plan was not listed. So, contacted VinFast and received the following:
"Yes, we have made some changes and the Flexible subscription option is not available anymore only the fixed, my apologies. The great thing is your price is locked in so you will not be charged the new prices. For the VF8, with you being a VinFirst, the monthly prices will still be $110. "

thx for giving us the info!

Regarding the info itself I’m somewhere between 😕 and
I want that flexible plan. I've already told them I will likely cancel if they aren't able to atleast provide the plan to the original reservation holders. We signed the purchase agreement based on those conditions.

yeah, but there are zero details in that agreement. Not even model. And #5 pretty much says they can make any changes to anything. It was just a quickie purchase order to, maybe, make the IRS happy.....
I get that, but we still signed that agreement based on existing information. Its like if they took away the Captain seat option when someone signed the purchase agreement based on that option. Or suddenly raised the 0-60 time to 8 secs. It would still be legally valid but ethically sketchy.

what annoys me more is that they didn't communicate the changes to vinfirst/vinpioneers (at all). that was one of the 'stated' benefits we'd get updates etc before the public did. So far, that totally isn't true.

No no bad Vinfast. :devilish:

I’m with you on the flexible plan - but if I remember it right there was a clause that (more or less everything) is subject to change and the signee acknowledges that.

yes, that’s weird - with todays IT it’s not a big deal to set up a mail-list with all reservation holders und to send them some updates (especially if it concerns prices).

They did call me today without my pushing for information so at least there is personal customer service interaction going on. The rep I spoke to also told me the pricing with the battery and such for both the eco and plus.
