My personal opinion series - minor concerns/issues: VF9 placement of charging port

This is part of a series about minor and major things which I like and things which in don’t like about
Vinfast in general and about the VF9 in particular.

I start with something minor which in my opinion could be an issue with some charging stations when on
a road trip (it most likely isn’t an issue for at home charging).

In my opinion the placement of the charging port (and the direction in which the flap/cover opens)
are unfavorable and not thought through...

Why? Especially the FV9 has a really long hood and what I see about
the cable lengths from charging stations (especially Tesla charging stations)
is that the cables are not very long and the majority of existing charging
stations will serve you from the front/back instead from the side like gasoline stations.
Furthermore you have to plugin the cable straight - you can’t angle
it like at a gasoline station. I think a solution a la Rivian would have been better!?

um,. for a lot more $$$ and no voucher for a cool discount, right?

My irks: the gear selection knobs? what on earth were they thinking. they are so huge and ICE based thinking. If they were trying to 'out' Tesla, they missed there big time.

Also, another minor irk: from the back there is no button to release the seats to go flat. Wut? Ug, what up with that? Hopefully they fix that on the production units.

Yes there are a few more minor thisngs which aren’t a deal breaker for me (because the overall package for the price seems really good) but still would be annoying if the final production vehicles are more or less equal to the current pre production regarding these things. If they really intend to go premium (especially with the VF9) they should work on some details like the mentioned button release for the seats. Also the process to get into the third row which I saw in a youtube video seems antiquated with using two different levers/latches (one for releasing the backrest and a second for sliding the seat forward) instead of engineering a sliding mechanism with only one lever/latch like Rivian and others. One more thing I would love to see is open storage space below the center console which many EVs have but I haven’t seen this so far in any VF picture or video. These small details shouldn’t be too expensive to implement from my perspective as an ordinary person.

A small detail which I really like is the button (instead a lever) to open the doors from the inside.
