Hi all,

New user and glad there's somewhere we can chat about Vinfast (besides the marketing video comments and not-so-informative Subreddits - that's another story).. I've been having trouble logging into the Canadian Vinfast website so I called the customer service line this morning to get it sorted. The rep said that it'll take 24 hours or so and should receive a call from someone when it's working again. Something that caught my attention is that he mentioned that he hopes it gets sorted soon so I can receive an invite to the upcoming client live stream with 'Vinfast Brass'. That's the first time I'm hearing about it, (I obviously never received anything via email about it). Is anyone else aware of this event (apparently it's tomorrow) and, if so, would you mind posting a link to the event here in the event other people are in the same boat as I am?

Hey @jay welcome to the forum! I haven't heard about this VinFast. Hopefully it's informative and not just something full of fluff. Did they tell you when it is tomorrow? If you get more info let us know.

Thank you! I'll keep an eye on my email and post whatever I can find, but the guy I spoke to when I called the number was from the US and logged into his account (he reserved a car as well) and the info was there.. He thinks the login issue is isolated to the Canadian website but who knows.

Didn't give me a time (but also didn't ask).

Hi: welcome to the forum. Kinda odd an event would be Canada only customers, where I'd think the majority of vehicles will come to Calif/US. Nice they are having it, tho. Maybe Canada Vinfast more organized then US Vinfast? 🤔

Lol I would argue that the Canadian side is less organized lol. I was referring to being able to actually log in on the website being a Canadian only thing. Since I put my $250 down in August I haven't been able to get into the website. I called CS before and was told it was an issue on the Canadian side and it would be sorted out soon. I kinda forgot about it until today when I tried to get in and was still having issues.



The event is most likely world wide thing but I haven't received anything about it. The guy I spoke to was in the US so either he told me about an event that was for employees or you guys in the US also received some sort of email and it's in junk or, was sent a while back. Either way I don't see it in my inbox.



UPDATE:



The person I just spoke to said the email was sent to everyone yesterday and is confirmed to be tomorrow. It's a webinar and is being held at 12:30pm EST. She is going to check in with the marketing team to find out why I didn't receive it and either resend the email or send me the link. I'll post it here when I get it.

There have been times logins weren't working. If yours has been long term, you should call 'em again. I just logged on aok, but that is the US web site.

Just confirming I didn't receive any email from Vinfast lately about anything. Silent.

Yeah just got off the phone with them. There's a ticket open..just waiting for it to be resolved. It's weird that two customer service reps confirmed that there is in fact a webinar happening tomorrow but neither of us received the email. There's still half hour before the customer service line closes (EST) so maybe someone else can reach out and triple check?

I attended the livestream. My impression: the positive about it is that I really appreciate that they try to establish a channel where they can get into contact with potential customers or generally interested people. The content was imo a bit shallow with no real meat (“within the next weeks” was a often used term). Basically they were saying: at this point we cant answer your questions regarding timelines, final specs and final prices because we don’t know either.

What stood out to me was this: when I scrolled through the Q&A section there were a lot of people who asked about the (scrapped) flex plan… Obviously the interest into this plan is not as low as Vinfast wants us to make believe! I still think they miscalculated the flex plan - or (hopefully not) they used it as a bait..

All great points. I'm trying to find literature that had the prices before they changed the website but honestly that's the route I would have gone if taking one of those plans. If they can get the government incentives sorted out I'll end up just buying the battery.

Did you hear the one dude mention at the end they are going to offer the vF8 in a more basic form than the eco to be able to apply for the incentive? I thought that's what I heard.

A lot of unknowns and from the people in the chat they appear to be turned off from Vinfast because of it. I plan to head to the grand opening in Toronto when the dealership opens and test drive the 8, as well as ask questions that they didn't answer.

Fingers crossed we get answers next month!

The pre recording was the most disappointing part of it imo. It presented only the things which are already for everyone to see on the website without any further details.

Regarding your question with the end of the stream and a more basic version of the VF8: when the stream broke and didn’t came back after a few seconds I thought that it was an issue on my end. I locked out, checked my internet connection and locked in again - at the time when I was back the stream had already ended. Therefore I missed this part.

Would love to hear about your test drive (even if we aim for the VF9).
