Cancellation Experience(s)

I want to hear about your experience if you canceled your reservation - because mine isn’t going really promising so far:

I have two VF9 reservations (Vinfirst / Vin pioneer) with all the “perks”. I decided to cancel one of them (the one that has no purchase agreement for the tax credit). I started the process about a week ago and got an almost immediate response by “Han P”. His/her answer was that of course I can cancel but that I will lose all benefits and if I would mind to tell the reason for my cancellation so that they can improve their services. I answered within minutes why I cancel and that i’m totally aware of losing the benefits and that I want to cancel nevertheless. Since then I send two more follow up emails and asked what’s going on with my cancellation - but nothing! Not a single word after their first response (and the reservation shows up still as active in my account)…

I'll be joining this task soon, but it's not a big deal as there won't be a 'refund' since I converted to an order. What is interesting the web site shows mine is a reservation and the deposit is refunable. Guess I'll find out soon. Today have test drive in Tesla Y; if it goes ok, sticking with the Tesla order I did on thursday and nuking my vinfast reservation/order.

even tho the Tesla Fremont plant is 20 minutes away from me I've never even been in a Tesla.
Lol I hear you. I actually sat in on that we almost bought. We called them and said we were interested but wanted to test drive it..When we got to the dealership the dude told us: "we just got a call for this and they're coming in to sign the paperwork and buy the car..but you can sit in it!". So I've sat in one but never drove one. I've also sat in the MY, ironically after my first VF8 test drive.
. So I've sat in one but never drove one.
so, now I've driven a Y. I was prepared for a 'stiff' ride but this puppy was a bit bouncy; perhaps too much for my taste, but I could get used to it. My RDX after 7.5 years still has a semi-stiff ride. Was really getting into the one pedal driving (it was set to HOLD); nor sure my wife was happy while I was getting used to it; her head kept bobbing forward. 🤷‍♂️
No deal breakers found beyond those I already complained about so the order is a GO. Order says Jan-March sales advisor said more like 4-6 weeks.

Congrats!
With the 1 pedal driving just have to keep foot on accelerator. But Tesla also has a setting to where it will not Regen as much and allow you to drive car like an ICE vehicle if you do not need the Regen. I think it is called creep mode I think.

I originally had two reservations and cancelled one middle of last year. I think I cancelled using the cancel button on my reservation and after that it was pretty straightforward. Received the refund about a week or so later.

“cancel button”? I can’t find such a button - neither in my account nor in any confirmation email from VF. Do you remember where this button was when you used it for cancellation?

They've removed it since then. I don't see it any more. It used to be on the reservation page.
I thought I saw one as well but I just double checked with my reservation and didn't see any option to cancel.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it and decided on the Y :)

Seems they knew about - or at least anticipated - the storm that is heading in their direction… ;)

I cancelled mine about 3 weeks ago and got a similar response from a "Susan T.". I got multiple replies by "VinFast customer service" saying they're confirming my cancellation. The odd thing was they kept writing as if it was a question about cancelling not just confirming. But it seems to be cancelled since I can't even log in anymore. However they haven't given me a refund so I just reached out again asking for the status on that.
I am in the opposite boat. I got the refund for my order but on the website it still shows that both my reservations are active. Weird as heck.

“cancel button”? I can’t find such a button
for a period of time there was a cancel button on the reservation details web page; but it was removed with the last web site refresh. Back to calling to cancel, which I haven't done quite yet although my Tesla arrives on Thursday if my banks cooperate. :)

Thank for sharing the information. I will be cancelling my reservation next week. I cannot wait until April to get the delivery. My order date is 27th April 2022
