they called me today;when I saw the caller ID was initially excited. Nah, they were just calling to see if I 'saw' the email on the City Edition. Told him I had and said pass giving my reasons.

Asked when next batch was coming. Was figuring I'd hear Jan. NOPE. He said 1st OR 2nd quarter 2023! WHHHAAAAATTTTTT?

Oh well, longer is actually better for me (no auto loan currently); but waiting is hard when one is ready. Plus, the darn rates keep going up. Rats. 😢

Well I'm hoping they'll ship them out by the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second quarter in order to claim that $7500 tax credit on time and not have to do an extension

Assures me in my guess that they have really serious problems behind the curtains…!

And also assures me in my opinion that the “city edition” is a bug and not a feature. Its a slimmed down version because they have a shortage (parts and/or skilled workers).

I‘m really, really close to cancel at least one of our two VF9 reservations if not both and focus on the R1S.

yes, this will be best for the final decision.
And now this email:
Hello SHale

Thank you for being a valued VinFirst Pioneer! My name is John. and I’m a Virtual Client Advisor here at VinFast. We are reaching out to make sure you received our voicemail and email in regards to ordering your VF8 City Edition. As things are moving rapidly and we will begin deliveries of our first vehicles very soon, we would love for you to be one of the first people in California with a VinFast VF8.

Let’s schedule a quick check in call so I can answer questions you may have and share our exciting updates from VinFast as we continue to work hard to deliver the future of Electric Vehicles.

I can easily be reached by replying to this email or calling 1-833-VINTALK (1-833-846-8255). If you’re free and want to give me a quick call right now just call in just ask for John. My office hours are Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm PST.

Thanks, and I hope to talk with you soon.

Warmest regards,

*****i replied I’d be happy to have one of the 999 coming, if I could lease the battery. 🤪

I agree. Vinfast knew about this prior to them shipping the 999. They knew on the factory floor. The question is WHY invent a trim nobody has heard of AND is still not on their website. Reduced range I get; but not allowing to lease the battery as-if another $3k discount would dent what it costs to BUY the battery. Blows right through my fifty something K out the door.

I broke down and called 'John'. Told him I'd be all in if the battery can be leased and the price falls $15k; sign me up......

More is going on for sure. Question is what......
